Riverside sits along the St. Joseph River south of Berrien Springs, closer to Niles than to Benton Harbor, which makes it one of the farther edges of our regular coverage area. US-31 carries most of the through-traffic here, running along river-adjacent terrain with occasional grades and curves that differ from the flatter roads closer to the lakeshore.
Being a smaller unincorporated community, Riverside doesn’t have the commercial density of Berrien Springs or Benton Harbor, so most of our calls out here come from residents and highway travelers rather than retail-lot impounds — almost entirely roadside breakdowns, recoveries, and accident tows.
US-31’s river-adjacent grades mean we often send a flatbed by default for Riverside recoveries, since the shoulder terrain can be uneven compared to the flat roads closer to Benton Harbor.
