The story

From Rescue Towing to today

The business traces back more than forty years. It started as Rescue Towing, which Ken Zielke purchased from Dennis Eisenhart in the early 1980s and built into a name Berrien County knew for dependable recovery work. In February 2004, Jason Arndt and his wife bought Zielke Towing from Ken — and have run it as a family business ever since.

Jason’s towing life started long before that. He grew up around the industry and was working for family friends’ towing companies by age 14, learning recovery, equipment maintenance, and heavy-duty work from operators who’d spent decades at it. In 1997 he launched his own auto service, towing, and welding operations, which became the foundation for everything since.

That welding side is a real advantage, not a tagline. Jason operates a fully equipped welding and fabrication shop, so the company builds, modifies, and repairs its own towing and recovery equipment — and engineers custom solutions for the odd recoveries this work throws at you. Since 2004 the fleet has grown to include modern rollback carriers, wreckers, and heavy-duty recovery rigs.

Our Story

Jason Arndt launched his journey in 1998, specializing in light auto and truck repairs in Hartford, Michigan. By 1999, he expanded into towing services, and in 2005, he acquired Zielke Towing & Tire. Since then, we've grown into a trusted name in vehicle recovery, repair, and maintenance.
